You don't have to turn to glasses full-time and rely upon bifocals, unless that's what you prefer from your readers, to get 20/20 vision if you're into contact lenses (it's okay, we know this way you can pretend your vision is perfect 90% of the time so no one will see you for your real age), you can use stylish reading glasses with your contacts! How to start using glasses with your contacts: 1. Talk to your eye doctor - many eye doctors will be honest and tell you that even multi-focal contact lenses won't do it for you when it comes to reading small print or driving and night. Instead, have them prescribe regular contact lenses and determine what strength reading glasses you'll need to wear over your contacts for 20/20 vision. 2. Shop for the lenses - buy reading glasses in the strength prescribed by your doctor over-the-counter and choose from your favourite trendy styles so that when you're using glasses to read you can do your best to appear slightly less old..really! 3. Change your glasses when you change your lenses - if the strength of your contact lenses need to change, then you'll likely need new reading glasses as well for optimal vision. Of course, if you receive a new contact lens prescription, you'll have to go back to your eye doctor anyways, make sure you ask about your reading glasses! There is no danger in wearing contact lenses and reading glasses at the same time; they can simply improve your vision in certain scenarios. Doubling up can give you the best of both worlds - plus the look of an intellectual you get by wearing glasses, even if only for the times you need to whip them out! |
