The Benefits of Progressive Lenses
Progressive lenses are becoming increasingly more popular because they offer more flexibility in terms of their use as they provide optimal vision. Progressives offer the same benefits that bifocals can provide and then some. They also provide a solution to those who feel that staring over the top of your reading glasses makes you look old (even though we all know, if you’re suffering from age-related vision loss, you may be getting a little bit on in years anyway)! Some of the benefits of progressive lenses include: · The ability to see clearly when looking at objects that fall in the ‘in between’ distances – bifocals offer the ability to see objects at far distances as well as things close up, but there are limitations with the ‘in between’ distances that progressive lenses can address · They offer natural vision – the progressive lenses provide wearers with similar vision to what they had prior to vision loss due to presbyopia. · There is no division in the lenses – progressive lenses are designed for an easy transition so wherever someone looks through the lens they have the optimal vision regardless of what they’re trying to view. · No image jump – with the division in the lenses, it can take people time to get used to bifocals as the different sections of the lenses can be very different strengths. This does not occur with progressive lenses.
